MIMA had a productive engagement with the Technology Depository Agency (TDA) — an agency under the Ministry of Economy that drives national growth through technology collaboration and industrial participation.
TDA, guided by its mission “To optimise collaborative platforms to maximise returns for our stakeholders,” implements the Industrial Collaboration Program (ICP) — leveraging government procurement to generate added value beyond the purchased goods or services.
The ICP ecosystem brings together OEMs, suppliers, international contractors, and local companies, fostering initiatives such as local content development, investment, market access, technology transfer, human capital development, and R&D&C.
In this engagement, TDA sought MIMA’s advisory insights to identify suitable support mechanisms for maritime-related recipients, particularly in strategic areas of need within the maritime sector.
This potential collaboration marks a step forward in aligning technology, policy, and industry to strengthen Malaysia’s maritime ecosystem.
