MIMA HLX Office: 7 May 2025
MIMA coordinated the specialised small group discussion in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), MOSTI to further discuss the draft action plan for the national Maritime Transport Sector as part of the ongoing engagement under the MBEB Study, with the Ministry of Economy Malaysia as the focal point.
The discussions were Chaired by MIMA Research Fellow & Head of the Centre for Straits of Malacca (SOM), Ms. Cheryl Rita assisted by researchers from the Centre.
Representatives from the Ministry of Transport (MOT), Malaysian Marine Department, Johor Port Authority (LPJ), Port Klang Authority (PKA), as well as ASM were in presence.
The discussions focused on refining and enhancing further the identified actions for national blue economy development in the Maritime Transport Sector.
