MIMA HLX Office: 8 May 2025
MIMA coordinated a specialised small group discussion to discuss the draft action plan for the Coastal and Marine Tourism Sector in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), MOSTI as part of the ongoing engagement under the MBEB Study, with the Ministry of Economy Malaysia as the focal point.
The discussions were Chaired by MIMA Research Fellow & Head of the Centre for Straits of Malacca (SOM), Ms. Cheryl Rita assisted by researchers from the Centre.
Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac), Department of Environment (DoE), Department of Fisheries (DoF), as well as ASM were in presence.
The discussions focused on refining and enhancing further the action plan for blue economy development in the Coastal and Marine Tourism Sector.
