MIMA proudly welcomed a thought-provoking knowledge session led by our newly appointed Board Member, Professor Dr. Jason Chuah, Dean and Professor of Commercial & Maritime Law at the University of Malaya and The City Law School, City University of London.
Titled “Navigating the Maritime Legal Landscape for the Malaysian Shipping Industry,” the session was attended by YBhg. Dato’ Monaliza binti Suhaimi, Director General of MIMA bringing together leadership and expertise at an astounding level.
Delivered through six cumulative sessions, Prof. Dr. Chuah masterfully unpacked the story of maritime law — from the foundations of Malaysian shipping law, the dynamics of dry and wet shipping, international shipping markets, charterparties and bills of lading, to the realities shaping today’s Malaysian maritime scene.
More than a briefing, it was an evidence of MIMA’s own commitment to informed governance, intellectual depth, and maritime excellence — brought by its highly competent leaders in navigating not just oceans, but the laws that govern them.
