The Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) participated in Clean Air Week 2025 held from 24–28 November in Bangkok, organised by UNEP. The event brought together policymakers, researchers, and regional experts to exchange knowledge and explore practical pathways to tackle air-quality challenges across the Asia-Pacific.
Throughout the five-day programme, participants engaged in discussions on clean-air planning, regional cooperation, emerging monitoring technologies, SLCPs, and the rising importance of green shipping in Southeast Asia.
MIMA’s participation provided valuable insights into regional best practices, scientific tools, and policy approaches that can support Malaysia’s environmental and maritime governance. The engagements also strengthened MIMA’s network with organisations such as ICIMOD, UNEP, ESCAP, the World Bank, and Clean Air Asia, paving the way for future collaborations and capacity-building initiatives.
