A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) and National Maritime Foundation (NMF) on 24 May 2023.
The ceremony involved Ybhg. Dato’ Mohamed Suffian bin Awang, chairman of MIMA and Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, Director- General of NMF. YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim graced the MoU signing ceremony, representing the Ministry of Transport and the agencies under MOT.
Witnessing the momentous agreement between MIMA and NMF was YBhg. Datuk Haji Hasbi bin Haji Habibollah, the Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia and His Excellence Mr. B.N. Reddy, the High Commissioner of India.
The MoU between MIMA and NMF aims to enhance collaboration and cooperation through various initiatives, including academic and research activities, exchange programs for officials and researchers, and sharing of relevant research information and materials. The agreement encompasses subject areas such as maritime strategy, safety, security, environmental protection, and other fields of interest to Malaysia and India.
