MIMA had the pleasure to participate and contribute to the FGD Session with relevant national stakeholders.
The forum was organised by PLANMalaysia in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu under the Ministry of Economy Malaysia on 15 April in Bangi, Selangor. More than 50 representatives from the government, academia, as well as NGOs attended. These included the Ministry of Transport (MOT), Malaysia Marine Department, Attorney General’s Chambers, National Security Council (MKN), Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), National Hydrographic Centre (PHN), as well as the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM). Research Fellow, Cheryl Rita Kaur and Senior Researcher, Ts. Egbert Adolf Naintin represented MIMA at the FGD.
Case studies and best practices from Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and China were highlighted and discussed in detail.
Inputs from the FGD will be useful in furthering the national agenda for sustainable blue economy development through the application of MSP as a management tool.
