As part of the continued engagement with the Academy of Sciences Malaysia under the Ministry of Economy, MIMA took part in the Industry Engagement Workshop held in Kuala Lumpur on 14 October 2025 — a pivotal step towards finalising the Malaysia Blue Economy Blueprint (MBEB).
MIMA, through its Centre for Straits of Malacca (SOM), is leading two key sectors under the MBEB: Maritime Transport & Marine Tourism. Our researchers, Fatin Anis and Muhd Nazmi Zuhairi, contributed to the discussions alongside diverse industry players.
The workshop focused on sustainability, innovation, and resilience, with all participants sharing insights to shape Malaysia’s ocean-based industries. Inputs were presented directly to the Ministry of Economy and MBEB Project Team.
