The Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA), through its Centre of Maritime Economics and Industries, participated in the Workshop on the Development of DMS 2767: Measuring System for Bunkering Activities (Bil. 1/2025), held from 11 to 12 June 2025 at Dewan Meranti, Cyberview Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya. The workshop was organised by the Department of Standards Malaysia (DSM) under the Working Group NSC 08/TC 1/WG 8, bringing together representatives from regulatory agencies, port authorities, and bunkering industry stakeholders to discuss the establishment of a national standard for bunkering measurement activities.

Representing MIMA was Mr. Wan Muhammad Amirul Amin Md Akhir, a researcher from the Centre of Maritime Economics and Industries. The 2 days discussion is very fruitful and the initiative is a critical step toward improving the accuracy, safety, and governance of maritime fuel transfer operations in Malaysia. By contributing to the standardisation process, MIMA continues to support the advancement of policy relevant research and the development of technical frameworks that enhance transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in the maritime sector.
