47TH MARITIME TRANSPORT WORKING GROUP (MTWG) IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

All the ASEAN member states together in 47th Maritime Transport Working Group (MTWG) in Brunei Darussalam

Assoc. Prof. ING. EUR. Ts. Ir. Dr. Syuhaida Ismail and Mazlinawati Abdul Majid has participated in the 47th Maritime Transport Working Group (MTWG) meeting in Brunei Darussalam from 17 to 18 September 2024. This meeting represented a key milestone in enhancing regional cooperation and promoting maritime development in line with ASEAN’s objectives of improving connectivity and deepening economic integration. The meeting addressed various topics, including strategies for transport development, sustainable maritime practices, and collaboration with the private sector to tackle the emerging challenges in the maritime industry.

Dr. Syuhaida Ismail delivered a presentation on the development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for port efficiency, along with policy recommendations for the ASEAN Single Shipping Market (ASSM).
Meanwhile, Mazlinawati Abdul Majid also took the opportunity to highlight and promote the upcoming Melaka International Maritime Economy Conference (MIMEC 2024) to ASEAN member states, reinforcing Malaysia’s commitment to maritime transport and its active role in advancing regional maritime initiatives.
