MIMA had the pleasure of hosting representatives from the Grandview Institution, Beijing — Capt. Liu Xiaobo, Director of the Center for Maritime Studies, and Dr. Sophie Wushuang Yi, Research Fellow.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Sumathy Permal, Senior Fellow, along with Haikal Amran and Nurismarina Smail from MIMA’s Centre for Maritime Security and Diplomacy.
Both sides engaged in thoughtful discussions on regional maritime affairs, strategic developments in the South China Sea, and ways to strengthen research linkages between Malaysia and China.
The meeting reflected a shared aspiration to foster understanding, strengthen professional ties, and support stability in the maritime realm.
