Researchers from the Centre for Maritime Security and Diplomacy (MSD) steering the way

All the selected researchers attended the inaugural meeting on 27 May 2021

Two of our Researchers from the Centre for Maritime Security and Diplomacy (MSD), Jeslyn Tan and Alif Imran Hidayat, have been selected to participate in the ‘𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭, 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 – 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐔-𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 (𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐆𝐄)’ 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. On 27 May 2021 was the inaugural meeting for all the researchers. A briefing about the whole programme and ice-breaking to start the ball rolling.

It is a two-year research programme co-hosted by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), and the Asian Vision Institute (AVI). The European Union funds this program.

The main objective is to promote intellectual exchanges and collaborative research among young think tank researchers from the EU and ASEAN on specific security, connectivity, and sustainable development issues. The program will be conducted online primarily (subject to the COVID-19 situation) for the selected researchers.

The program will conduct twelve online lectures for selected researchers, twelve online discussions with political decision-makers, six workshops, and two think tank conferences (the latter two being held physically or online, depending on COVID-19 developments). In addition, the program outcomes are expected to be 30 policy papers, 5 publications, and a think tank mapping that will be disseminated to relevant stakeholders through various types of media.

To Jeslyn Tan and Alif Imran Hidayat, good luck in embarking on a commitment to the programme! We at MIMA will definitely give full support in your two-year journey!
