The Global Research on Sustainable Transport & Logistics was conducted via a virtual platform
On 2nd September 2021, Cdr Ang Chin Hup (R), Head of Centre for Maritime Economics & Industries (MEI), talked at the above-mentioned international conference. The conference was hosted by the Institut Transport dan Logistik Trisakti in collaboration with the University of Rotterdam, Netherland and MiTRANS of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. The theme of the conference is ‘Sea Transport Development for Innovative and Sustainable Transport and Logistics.
List of Speakers for the conference
The conference featured international speakers from Institut Transport dan Logistik Trisakti of Indonesia, Antwerp University, Belgium, Sea Port Consultant and Drewry Maritime Consultant of the UK. Speakers from Malaysia were Dr Nazry Yahya of Johor Port Skills Centre and Cdr Ang Chin Hup (R) of MIMA. The conference was attended by around 400 participants in Indonesia and abroad through a virtual platform.
During the conference, speakers spoke on various topics covering ports technology and sustainability, digitalised and connected supply chains, port renewable infrastructure and current issues on the transparent ecosystem, crew change, waste management, tourism and leisure, and green port.

Cdr Ang Chin Hup (R) spoke on the current maritime development in Southeast Asia and Malaysia and the future prospect of the ASEAN Single Shipping Market (ASSM) and the RO-RO Network in the region. The topic received a positive response from the participants during the session.
