Head of Centre for MEI Speaking at the Indo- Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD – 2021)

On 28 October 2021, Cdr Ang Chin Hup (R), MIMA’s Head of Centre for MEI, was honoured to be one of the speakers at the conference mentioned above hosted virtually on 27 to 29 October 2021. The Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue – 2021 is an annual conference hosted by the Indian Navy and the National Maritime Foundation (NMF) of India to garner intellectual in-depth panel discussions on topics related to security and economic issues in the Indo-Pacific region.

The event was attended by senior officials from India and the region, with almost 200 participants from India and the region participating through the virtual platform.

Cdr Ang participated in the panel discussion on the session theme, ‘Port-led Regional Maritime Connectivity and Development Strategy,’ with other panellists from Australia, India and Japan. His topic on ‘The Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA)’s Blue Economy: Model for the Indo-Pacific Region’ attracted much interest and interactions from participants in the sessions. The talk also demonstrates MIMA’s commitment to the IORA as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in maritime affairs.

 As a token of appreciation, Cdr Ang Chin Hup (R) received a commendable letter from the NMF for his contribution to the resounding success of the concluded event. MIMA would also like to express its gratitude to the foundation for inviting the researcher from the institute to talk at the event and looks forward to more collaborations in the future.
