Position: Internship Progamme (Pelajar Latihan Industri) for the Centre for Maritime Economics and Industries – MEI
Location: Maritime Institute of Malaysia Lot 16-01, Level 16, Menara HLX, No.3, Jalan Kia Peng, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Duration: 3 – 6 months.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting and organising freight-related datasets from various sources
- Support data cleaning, filtering, and basic structuring using Excel and Power Query
- Help with updating internal freight data inventories and documentation
- Learn the basics of database systems (e.g. SQL, MS Access, or MySQL)
- Collaborate with the team on data visualisation, dashboard support, and technical notes
- Assist with data visualisation, dashboard creation, and reporting
- Exposure to national-level policy research, government stakeholder engagement, and cross-disciplinary teamwork
