During the discussion

The discussion was chaired by First Admiral Dato’ Chin Yoon Chin, MIMA DG who briefed the delegation on the role and operational process of MIMA. The discussion focused on the readiness and evolution of naval force in addressing traditional and non-traditional security in this challenging era. Captain Martin A. Sebastian from MIMA elaborated on the shortcomings and opportunities in scenario planning by focusing not only on theoretical parts but to include the possible risks mitigation in mapping exercise stimulators. Dato’ Chin acknowledged the importance of a ‘navy navigating community’ to remain competitive and relevant in this rapidly evolving global era.

As part of MIMA’s efforts to provide expert opinion on maritime affairs in particular to foreign delegates, the meeting benefited both parties on areas of mutual interest and explored prospects for research project partnerships. The visit ended with an exchange of mementos.
