Nazery Khalid joined MIMA in April 2004 as a Research Fellow at MIMA’s Center for Economic Studies & Ocean Industries. Nazery has presented talks and papers at many forums and conferences worldwide on a broad range of topics on maritime economics including port development, shipping trends, multimodal transport, offshore oil and gas and freight logistics. His research findings and views on various maritime issues and developments are often quoted in the media and appear regularly in various publications including refereed journals. He has written books on ship financing and multimodal transport, has edited a conference proceedings on the Strait of Malacca and has contributed several chapters to books. Nazery holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Ottawa University, Kansas, USA and an MBA from International Islamic University, Malaysia. Prior to joining MIMA, he worked in the financial services industry in the fields of banking, corporate finance and stockbroking.
